Lawrence Junior Adams

Lawrence Junior Adams, "Uncle Jake or Larry", age 93, of Brimfield, Ohio, died on July 23, 2022.
He was born on March 24, 1929 in Akron, the son of the late Lawrence L. and Donna Marie (nee Honeycutt) Adams.
Larry grew up in Akron and when he was 15 years of age he moved, with his parents, to the farm in Palmyra. He graduated from Palmyra High School in 1947, where he played baseball, basketball and football.
He then joined the US Navy in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1952. He served during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Leyte. Larry graduated in electronics from the Great Lakes Naval Academy. Larry was extremely proud of his military service to the USA.
Following his military service, he returned to Akron and while job searching, happened upon IBM, applied for a job and was there until his retirement in 1988.
During his lifetime he married his wife, the former Janet Louise Brotherton, whom he married on May 28, 1955. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2012. After they were married, they bought a home on Mogadore Road and lived there their entire wedded life, it was their little piece of Heaven on Earth.
He had a deep love for his family and the family history. Some of his hobbies included golf, gardening, bowling and traveling.
Those that survive are their three children, Eric (Georgia) Adams, Julia (Michael) Simile and Todd (Jenny) Adams; their grandchildren, Michael, Spencer, Ian, Anna, Erin, Emma and Amanda.
In addition to his parents and wife, his two brothers preceded him in death, Kenneth and Elwood Adams.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00-10:45 AM before processing to the Palmyra West Cemetery in Diamond, Ohio for a Military Service.
