Lawrence E. "Larry" Combs
Lawrence E. Combs, 75, of Akron, passed away March 27, 2010. He graduated from St. Vincent's High School. Larry was very supportive of his children's sports and band activities at Springfield Schools. He also supported the members of the Dropt Out Truck Club. Larry was a devoted family man and some of the family's fondest memories are when Papa shared Popsicles (Dadoos) with Matthew while reading the doggie book and getting him settled in for a nap and Jessica eating the salt off Papa's Wheat Thins and putting them back in the box. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred; grandson, Logan; and brother, Bob. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 1/2 years, Rebecca; children, Ashley Combs, Aaron Combs, David, Michael, Jennifer, Diana, and Ed; stepmother, Betty Rentz; sisters, Erma, Gretchen, and Marjorie; brother, Tim; sister-in-law, Betty Combs; eleven grandchildren; mother-in-law, Betty Ross; sister-in-law, Karen (Dale); brother-in-law, Dr. Charles Ross III; best friend, Howard Morrison; and Jodi Lynn. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-7 p.m.at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Diane Walker officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
