Lela D. Anderson

Lela D. Anderson, 91, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2018. She was born in Spencer, WV on May 17, 1926 to the late Maxwell and Ethel Murray. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and worked in the nursery for 40 years. She loved children, baking and working puzzles. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Anderson; brother, Rex Murray; sister, Beryl Bowen and son in-law, Eric Contrascier. She is survived by her son, James (Kim); daughter, Pam Contrascier; grandchildren, Matthew, Carl, Karee, Alicia and Kristin; sister in-law, Eve Newhart; half-sister, Janet Wilson; and half-brothers, Buck and Jim Murray.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday January 24, 2018 from 11-12pm with the funeral service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Larry Knight officiating. Interment Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akron Baptist Temple.
