Lena Neportia Hunt
Lena Neportia Hunt departed this earthly life on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at manor care of Akron surrounded by family. She was born July 30, 1922 in Burgesttown, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Johnson. Lena relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1946, and worked for several private families in the Akron area and retired from the Summit County Children Home in 1984. Lena had a strong faith in God and a heart of gold. She belonged to Antioch Baptist Church of Akron where she served on the usher board for many years. Lena was predeceased by her only child, Charles James Ausburn III. She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Lisa C. Ausburn- Carter (Kevin) of Blacklick, Ohio, Charles J. Ausburn IV (Luz) of Los Angeles, California, Kenneth W. Ausburn (Angela) of Columbus, Ohio and Kevin T. Ausburn (Michelle) of Gurnee, Illinois; great grandchildren, Gregory A. Grinkley II, Christopher D. Carter, Katiya Ausburn, Zachary Ausburn and Caleb Ausburn; sister in law, Alberta Johnson of Willingsborough, New Jersey; brother-in-law, Jasper Reed of Akron, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by sisters, Anna Hicks, Blandena Reed, and Glovenia Altman; brothers, Nesbitt A. Johnson, George H. Bridges, William L. Bridges and Cazzell Bridges. Special thanks to Manor Care of Akron for the love and care shown to our Mee-Maw, June Evans of Summit County Jobs and Family Services, and Joyce Rodgers for always being there. A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 6, from 11am to 12 noon at the Antioch Baptist Church, 640 Vernon Odom Blvd, Akron, 44307, where a funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Gregory B. Harrison officiating. Interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
