Leo George Hoffman
Leo George Hoffman, 72, of Akron, passed away December 22, 2007. Leo honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a Sergeant Detective after 29 years of service with the Akron Police Department. Leo was a member of the Akron FOP Lodge, Mogadore VFW 8487, the Mogadore Moose, and the American Legion in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and traveling to Florida. Leo will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Linda; children, Beth Hoffman, Tim (Jill) Hoffman, Susan (Brad) Hrovat, and Debby (Rick) Margroff; stepchildren, Laura Giaimo, Lesli (Stephan) Ryder, and Linsy Biege; sister, Pat (Don) Rector of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Tim, Colleen, Mark, Bryce, Nicholas, Burke, Jacob, Anthony, Andrea, Emma, and Ava; and great-grandchildren, Hailey and Brian. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with funeral services on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
