Leo L. Jenkins, Sr.
Leo L. Jenkins, Sr., 82, of Mims, Florida, formerly of Akron, passed away June 19, 2007 at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida. He was born February 19, 1925 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late James D. & Bessie (Guttenberg) Jenkins. Leo was a veteran of WWII and was attached to the Army Engineer Corps. He was a lifetime member of Firestone VFW Post 3383, life member of Hines Blind Center Alumni Inc., and life member of Blinded Veterans Association. Leo worked for the Summit County Highway Dept., Fairlawn Supply Co. and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha "Peggy" (Graham) Jenkins; daughter, Terry Bieri (Richard) Petrencsik of Florida; son, Leo (Merri Lynn) Jenkins of Akron; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jessie and Lill; brothers, Jim & Walter. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating.
