Leon Golden

Leon Golden, 78, of Mogadore, passed away December 29, 2001 at Akron City Hospital. He was born January 22, 1923 in Bellington, W VA to the late John & Flora (Gibson) Golden. Leon was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Air Force and is a retiree of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Steven Golden. Survivors include his daughter Joyce A. Kowaleski of Tallmadge; sister Anna (Gale) Booth of WV; brothers John (Mary) Golden of Akron, Denford Golden of Sandusky, Ron (Sandy) Golden of Akron, Clint Golden of Akron; long-time friend and companion Carol Bry. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Rosenberger officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
