Leonard D. Bowles

Leonard D. "Jack" Bowles, 83, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of May 23, 2021. Born in Nellis, WV to Orville and Thelma (Prickett) Bowles, he resided in Tallmadge, Ohio most of his adult life. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 43 years of service. Jack greatly enjoyed hunting, water skiing, boating, camping, motorcycles and most importantly, spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by son, Jim; siblings, Priscilla Hawkins, Eddie Bowles, Bitner Bowles, Pearl Beckman, Lorraine Richardson. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Peggy; children, Bob (Kathy Haag), Jack (Gina), Don (Bonnie), Barry (Kathy), Barb (Wayland) Hicks; grandchildren, Dwan, Jesse, Shaina, Casey, Jack, Lisa, Laura, David, Brittany, Ashley, Joey, Stephanie; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister, Barbara (Paul) Prunty; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will take place Friday, May 28th at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Tallmadge Cemetery.
