Leonard K Powell age 76 passed away Aug 5, 2013 surrounded by family.He was born to the late Stanley and Willowim Powell on July 2, 1937 in Harrisburg Pa.
Leonard was a veteran in the Army and he worked for Betsy Ross Foods/Peter J Schmidt until 1992. He then became a licensed electrician for 13 years and later worked for East of Chicago Pizza part time to help keep him busy as he didn't like to sit for too long.
Leonard loved his summer gardening, especially his tomatoes and corn on the cob and any outside work along with playing the lottery each week. He enjoyed camping; his favorite camp spot was to go to the Michigan International Speedway.
He and his wife, Sara also enjoyed vacationing with family in Delaware.
Leonard is survived by his wife Sara (Reinberger) Powell and would have celebrated 37yrs of marriage on September 25th. He is also survived by his brother Stan and Darlene, Sister-n- law Debbie (Fred) Bryner of Bear, Delaware; Sister-n-law Connie Miller of New Castle, Delaware. Rick Johns of Akron, OH; Nieces Lisa (Mike) Guseman of Portland, Oregon; Connie Bryner of Wilmington, DE; Mandi Miller of New Castle, DE and Great Nieces, Shaunee Novak of Newark, DE and Cianna DeLuca of Wilmington, DE. In addition to his family members he is also survived by Kitty Kuddles, Taz and Smokie, although not his children but his cats, he loved and spoiled them just the same.
Leonard was a very loving and giving man there wasn't a person or animal that he would not help in some way.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Humane Society of Summit County.
