Leroy Turner Jr.

Leroy Turner Jr., 76, passed away on March 16, 2024. He was born on May 1, 1947 the son of the late Leroy and Willie Ann Turner of Marion, Alabama. Leroy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for 20 years at St. Joseph's in California and retired after 10 years of continued dedicated service from the VA Hospital. He enjoyed watching boxing, listening to music, traveling with family and friends, and had an eye for photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Harrison Wade Turner; and sisters Sarah and Linda.
Leroy is survived by his sons Yorel L. Turner and Leroy Gray Turner; grandchildren Ja'Shawn Turner, Jayce Turner, and Si'Yana Turner; sisters Sonora Walker and Sunseria Turner; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron 44305) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Robert Smith officiating.
Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve national Cemetery.
