Lesslie L. Carter, "Les", age 60 of Akron, Ohio, died on January 7, 2023 at Akron City Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 5, 1962 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Aliene Carter.
He retired from Akron Public Schools as a head custodian after many years of service. He took pride in his career.
Les was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America, specifically the Cub Scouts, as he was a Cub Scout Master. He enjoyed shooting pool. Les also was big into trading non-sporting cards. His greatest joy was being the "A#1" father to his children. It was all about his family!
Those that mourn his loss are his children, John (Maggie) Carter and Jenna Carter; his grandchildren, Jaylen and Mila Carter; and his brother, Randall "Randy" Carter.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 11:00 - 1:00 PM, where funeral services will take place at 1:00 PM. Pastor Stacey Jenkins will celebrate Les' life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America in Lesslie's memory.
