Lester Duane Maple, age 86 of Akron, Ohio, died on July 18, 2023.
He was born on May 21, 1937 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the son of the late Emery and Henrietta (nee Condon) Maple Sr.
Lester was an honorably discharged US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was a retired accountant. Lester was an animal lover, a vinyl record enthusiast and always was going for a car ride. He was the biggest fan of the Blackwood Brothers, knowing James Blackwood, personally. He was a fan of quartets and was a good uncle and friend.
Survivors include his many nieces, nephews, cousins and all of their families and friends that mourn his loss.
Other than his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his siblings, Lenore Gilmore, Ruby Summers, Dorothy Alexander, Emery Maple Jr, Harold Maple, Raymond Maple and Robert Maple.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM, where his niece, Pastor Karla Maple will celebrate Lester's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Lester will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio, where military services will be rendered at a later date.
