On September 18th, 2022, Lester Moore passed away at the age of 84, surrounded by his wife, all five of his children, and loving family. Lester was born on May 21, 1938; the second of six brothers born to William and Clara Moore in Richwood, Virginia. Lester lived a long, full life, filled with love. He was first and foremost a loving and devoted husband of 49 years to his beautiful wife, and a father to his five children. The joy of his life were his eight grand and seven great-grandchildren, for whom he was present at almost every single birth, and rarely missed any event of importance to any of them.
Throughout his life he was dedicated to his work, be that his marriage, family, career, church, hobbies, or home. He was a cowboy, a hunter, a baseball coach and player for most of his life, a business owner, an animal lover, a gardener, and to anyone who knew him, a loving and lifelong friend. He had stories inside of stories and a smile none of us will soon forget. Knowing Lester meant that you'd be welcome at any moment for a cup of coffee, a swing on his porch, or the shirt off his back. He was generous, funny, warm, larger-than-life, and will be deeply missed by so many.
Lester is survived by his wife Cynthia (Skipper) Moore, son Daniel (Claire) Moore, David (Julie) Moore, Carol (Bill) Greaves, Christina Moore, and Edward (Melissa) Moore. Lester was preceded in death by his brothers Ellis, Charles, and Larry Moore, as well as the mother of his first three children, Ann Nutter.
Cremation will take place in honor of his request.
Visitation will be held from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home at 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, September 25th, 2022. A service in honor of his memory will be held at 2:00p.m.
All are welcome. "Come over, Bud."
