Lester Luther Phillips

Lester Luther Phillips, 76, of Akron, passed away on August 28, 2024. He was born in Clinton, OH on June 16, 1948 to the late Austin and Rowena {Shields} Phillips.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his grandson Dalton Szurek, sisters Millie (Mike) Durbin and brothers Donald, Frank and Bobby Phillips.

Lester is survived by his loving son Joseph (Heather) Phillips Sr.; daughter Bridgette Szurek; grandchildren Ashleigh and Joseph Jr.; sisters Viola (Bob) Legge, Nina Hatch, Roberta (Steve) Miller and Ginny (Lenny) Tomeko; brothers Olson (Colleen) Phillips and Homer (Phyllis) Phillips; a host of nieces and nephews. 

Lester was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church. 

Lester's family finds comfort in knowing that he is resting high on that mountain.

 Per Lester's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lester's memory are suggested to the Missions Fund at Maranatha Bible Church.
