Lewis A. Hayslip

Lewis A. Hayslip, 77, of Mogadore, went Home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2018. Lou was born in Akron, Ohio on January 21, 1941 to the late Otha and Maxine Hayslip. He attended Kenmore High School and then joined the Army Reserves, serving 7 years. Lou then became an Akron Police Officer in 1969 and retired in 1995. He was also a long-time member of Mogadore Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy Hayslip.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Retta Hayslip; children, Bob Keener, Gary (Cheryl) Hayslip, Terry (Stephanie) Hayslip, and Sherry Hayslip; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hayslip, Bobby Keener, Amanda (Paul) Averbukh, Ricky and Renee Hayslip, Justin Terrell, Faith, Joy and Grace Hayslip; siblings, Paul (Cindy) Hayslip and Nancy (Pete) Pappas, and Elodine Hogue.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Mogadore Baptist Church, 3750 Albrecht Ave., Akron, OH 44312. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from noon until time of funeral service beginning at 1 pm also at the church.
