Lewis Warren Montgomery, 70, of Akron, Ohio,went home to his Lord and Savior on January 2, 2024. Lewis was born March 3, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Gladys Montgomery. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 70-73 (Vietnam War 70/71). Lewis ran his own construction business, L & M Siding Co. for around 40 years. He liked working on classic cars, cookouts/Holiday parties, going to the movies, watching fireworks, reading about old military conflicts, enjoyed shooting, watching football, listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival, researching and learning about boats, helping others when he could and loved making people laugh with his version of dad jokes.
Lewis will be deeply missed by loved ones: Becky Montgomery; sons, Louie (Jeanni) Montgomery, Clint (Michell) Montgomery, and daughter, Nora Montgomery. Followed by seven grandchildren, Lynae, Jessica, Samantha, Lauren, Megan, Johnathan, and Emery; five great-grandchildren, Brantley, Hunter, Aurora, Emma, and Nova; siblings, Clayton (Kathy) Montgomery, Lynda (Dennis) Shankle, and Joanie (Marion) Mitchell; followed by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Lee, John, Robert, Larry (Twin), Wanda and Jeanie.
Please join the family for visitation on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. Burial will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio 44273.
