Lillian J. Morris passed from this life-to-life eternal on Friday, March 22, 2024.
I have passed a mountain peak, and my soul is soaring in the firmament of complete and unbound freedom; I am cloaked in full whiteness; I am in comfort; I am in peace.
Born February 23, 1919, in Huntsville, Al. to the late Henry and Bessie Brandon. She lived most of her adult life in Akron, Ohio. For many years she was the owner operator of Lillian's Hair Salon. She was employed for over twenty years at Andre Duval Salons later renamed Best Cuts Salons in Akron. Ohio. After her retirement, she reopened Lillian's Hair Salon where many of her Best Cuts clients followed her until she relocated from Glenwood Avenue. Lillian was affectionately called "Big Mama" by all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and those who knew her. She never met a stranger and all who knew "Big Mama" loved her dearly. She was a former member of Mt Lebanon Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible Study. She became a member of the Chapel at Fir Hill in the mid 1960's, where she remained a faithful member of the Sunday School class under Pastor Jim Dulls and was involved with several ministries within the Chapel including the cancer wrap ministry. She loved the Word of God and could easily get into long discussions declaring the goodness of the Lord. In the last few years, Big Mama would often express her thankfulness to God for blessing her with so many years. Big Mama loved her family and family gatherings, she was the force behind many Family Reunions. Although gone from the earth, her memory will last forever.
"We love you, Big Mama."
