Linda L. Akers, "Frog", age 77 of Akron, Ohio, died on Monday, January 14, 2019 at her home.
She was born on March 20, 1941 in Akron, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Jane (nee Ott) Ward.
Linda was a cook for White House Chicken and various other establishments. Frog enjoyed shopping on QVC, flowers, working puzzles, and watching cardinals. Frog's bundle of joy, was her shih tzu, "Snickers". Her greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends.
Survivors include her twin children, Theresa (Glenn) Barber and Terry Akers; her granddaughters, Michelle Barber and Molly Kate Akers; her great-granddaughter, Shyleah Akers. Her siblings also survive, Garnet (Whitey) Samuels, Larry Ward, and Sandy Bryant.
Other than her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Akers on May 25, 2008, they were united in marriage on July 25, 1963; and two brothers, Ronnie and Jim Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Chaplain Terry Arnold will celebrate Linda's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Linda will be buried with her husband at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
