Linda D. Hershberger, 60, went Home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2008. Linda attended Brown Street Baptist Church and was a member of VFW 1070 Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed at First Merit Bank for 29 years. Linda enjoyed country western music, crossword puzzles, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Preceded in death by her grandmother Catherine Ellis; father Alvis Hembree; sister Sharon; and brothers Donald Paul and John R. Survivors include her mother Kathryn Wharton; sister Susan (Larry) Whisman; brothers Jeff Hembree and David (Marlene) Hembree; 6 nieces; 4 nephews; and a host of dear friends. Calling hours will be TODAY, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron where a funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m., Pastor Robert Kuhns officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Children's Hospital.
