Linda Hiltbrand, age 63, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. If you knew Linda, you were blessed to know the most witty, welcoming, and loving wife, mother, grandmother "Lola", daughter, sister, and friend to all. She was born November 23, 1959 in Cleveland to Ronald "Ron" Hulse of Sagamore Hills and the late June (nee Turner) Hulse.
Linda graduated from Nordonia High School, where she met her loving husband, Edward "Ed" Hiltbrand.
Following high school she worked at the Northfield Giant Eagle for 38 years in the produce department. She shared many funny stories about co-workers and was usually found to be the main prankster.
Ed and Linda married in September of 1983 and spent nearly 40 years traveling and raising their family. They were blessed with two sons, Andrew (Angela) Hiltbrand and Cory (Natalie) Hiltbrand. Linda was an active mom and supporter of her boys - going to every sporting event, preparing meals, and being their biggest fan. In addition to her sons, Linda was also blessed with two of her little loves, her granddaughters, Leah and Julia Hiltbrand.
Beyond her immediate family, Linda was considered a second mom to many. In the early years, she spent many days playing sports with her sons and the neighborhood kids. As they grew older, she offered her home and her ear to those who needed it. She was a caring and loving listener and was extremely funny at just the right times. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially of the Browns, and showed her support by wearing her blinged-out sports gear.
In addition to her father, husband, children and granddaughters, Linda is survived by her sister, Gail (Ed) Kornuc and her sisters-in-law, Carol Hunter, Kim Antz and Karen Hiltbrand; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn Linda's loss.
Linda has joined her beloved mother, June, her husband's parents, Charles "Bud" and Agnes (nee Weakland) Hiltbrand and her brothers-in-law, Kevin Hiltbrand, John Hunter, and Joe Antz, in Heaven.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held at a later date.
