Linda S. McClain

Linda McClain, age 68, of Akron, Ohio passed on Tuesday October 15th, 2024 of natural causes just as the sky filled with rainbows in a rare show of beauty. She is survived by husband Jerry, son Russell (Bridget), daughter Rachel; grandchildren Caleb, Jade, Veronica, Alexander, Gunner (Brenda), McKaley (Jessie), great grandchildren Elijah and Lyla; sister Karen (Gary), niece Brittainy (children Alexis, Dominic, Kieth and Calvin), nephew Larry (wife Amy, children Bode, Jocelyn, and Trey) - all of whom she loved dearly.

 Linda and Jerry would have been married 40 years in March. They were best friends and built a home where several generations often gather. Jerry was by Linda’s side every step of the way. 

 Linda and her sister Karen had a deep bond of sisterhood. They were together from the beginning, in youthful hijinks, while supporting each other through life’s heartaches, high points, and everything in between. Karen was a large part of Linda’s fondest memories and many are known only by these two.

 Rachel will always miss laughing with her mom until they were in tears. She will always be grateful for the times Linda cared for her and her children, and wishes she could have done the same for Linda for many more years.

 She was a very significant presence in her grandchildren's lives. They loved baking with her and she had a magical way of knowing what they wanted for dinner, and had it ready, even when they arrived unannounced. She showered them with gifts and affection and will always have a special place in their heart.

Linda made recurring donations to charity, especially for children and families in need. Per her wishes, the family will honor her privately. Friends and loved ones who would like to contribute are encouraged to donate in her name to Saint Jude or The Akron Regional Food Bank. Linda's spirit and love for others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy.
