Mogadore: On Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, Linda Mae Sentelik (Gandee) passed away peacefully at Summa Hospital. Her husband of 58 years, Joe, was waiting to welcome her into Heaven.
Linda was born on November 10th, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to the late Otmer and Dorothy Gandee. Her late older sister Sandra, whom she loved dearly, was Linda's best friend and 'protector' as they grew up.
Linda worked at Ohio Bell for a brief time before taking on the huge role of homemaker to her four children and husband. Linda designed and general contracted their beautiful home of 50 years. She also designed three other homes and general contracted two of those. She was known for her extensive picture collection of family and loved ones dating back to the early 1800s. Christmas time was a favorite of hers and it shined forth through the beautiful decorations that she displayed with her 'eye for details' .
Linda was always available to help family and friends with any problems. Her sense of humor and quick-wittedness will always be remembered and cherished.
As a Grandma/Great-grandma, she went above and beyond to spoil her six grandkids and three great-grandkids.
As a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma she embraced the meaning of doing one's best every day for the ones you love. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her children, Joe Sentelik, Jennie (Dan) Scarpitti, Dan (Robin Bacon) Sentelik, and Vicki Sentelik. Her love of family will continue thru her grandchildren, Kayleigh (Geoff) Priebe, Jadelynn (Al Romito) Scarpitti, Melinda (Bobby) Shew, Jim (Erika) Davis, Daniel J. Sentelik, and Lauren Sentelik. Great-grandchildren Wyatt Shew, Giovanni Priebe, and Rory Davis. Nieces Jackie Nelson and Gayle Cross and all of her great-nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Wednesday 6/16 from 11 am to 1 pm. Service immediately following with procession to Hillside Memorial Park to follow.
