Linda K. Townsend

Linda K. Townsend passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2023 at the age of 75. She was born in Esserville, VA to Walker and Mattie on March 5, 1948. Linda moved from Virginia to Ohio when she was 14 years old. She married and was then blessed with five children.

If you knew Linda, you knew how much being a Mamal meant to her. The love that she had for her children and grandchildren was endless. She was a woman of faith and was actively involved with her church, willing to help in any way that she could. Her children fondly remember her for encouraging them to attend Easter services, no matter what. Linda enjoyed traveling to different gospel concerts in her free time. She is loved and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Townsend.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jim Townsend; children, Linda, Scott and Jimmy Barrett and Daniel Townsend; grandchildren, Mike, Dawn, Mandi, Hope, Faith, Ashley, Josh, Kyle, Tiffany, Shawn, Jillian, Brooke, Owen, Macy, Tristen, Cody, Calyssa and Anthony; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Home Missionary Baptist Church (1922 Oakes Drive, Akron, OH) on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10am until the time the funeral service begins at 12pm. Pastor Keith Emhoff will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (3657 Northdale Street NW, Uniontown, OH).
