Lindy J. Vesa, age 65 of Coventry, passed away on Christmas Day 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on May 10, 1952 in Akron, the son of Colleen L. Freeman with whom he lived and the late Joseph D. Vesa.
Lindy was a 1970 graduate of Coventry High School and was self-employed. He enjoyed playing his guitar, music- especially the Beatles, fishing and camping, and spending time with his family- especially his grandchildren.
Other than his mother, Colleen, other survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn I. Bromelow, whom he married on May 1, 1992; his children, Carla (Che Butler) Vesa and Christine Vesa; his grandchildren, Hannah Stevens, Brianna Smith, Maci Butler, Miya Butler, and Larry Vesa. His sister, Karen (Kurt) Black is also surviving.
In addition to his father, Lindy was preceded in death by his step-son, Jeffrey Samuels; his sister, Carol Deardorff, and an infant sister, Carla Rae Vesa.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 where Rev. Bill Sterner will celebrate Lindy's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
Following services Mr. Vesa will be cremated.
