Lois J. Grizer
Lois Johnson Grizer was born in Akron, Ohio, April 24, 1916, but lived most of her life in Ellet area with her husband Edison J. Grizer for sixty-six years. She died on June 8, 2008 at Chambrel Montrose. She was a life member of the Akron Area Board of Realtors and originated the GLOW (Good Living Over Waste) Program, which received local, state, and national recognition. Although she had other "firsts" in her life, GLOW seemed to please her the most. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison. She is survived by her children, Edison Jon Grizer (Rochester, NY) wife Becky; Cynthia Grizer Kauffman (Howell, Michigan); grandchildren, Michael Jon Grizer (Cibolo, Texas), wife Candi, Jeffrey Scott Grizer (Cary, North Carolina), wife Kerri, Jennifer Lynn Thompson (Berkley, Michigan) husband Chad, Jonathan Scott Kauffman (Howell, Michigan); great-grandchildren, Cassandra Senn, Camryn Grace, and Carson Jeffrey Grizer. She was an Elder and a Deacon of the North Springfield Presbyterian Church and a member of their Chancel Choir for nearly 50 years. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Church, Choir, or your favorite charity, in lieu of flowers. Calling hours at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio will be Friday, June 13, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial service presented by the Chancel Choir will be held at the North Springfield Presbyterian Church at 671 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Private entombment at Hillside Memorial Park.
