Lois Montis,(GG) born on March 14, 1936, in Stow, Ohio, passed away on October 21, 2024, at the age of 88. A devout Christian and a beloved member of her community, Lois was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
As a dedicated member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church in Akron, Lois actively participated in the Martha Circle for Methodist Women, where she forged deep connections and shared her faith. Her love for life was evident in her many passions, which included playing cards, bingo, bowling, dancing, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family. Her favorite song, "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll," captured her vibrant spirit and love for joyful moments.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Margaret, her husbands, Stan and Harlan, her brother and nephew, Edward and Matt. She leaves behind her loving children, Jeano (Tony) and Dann, who were her pride and joy. Her brothers Gary, Tim, and Philip (Ken) and her sister in law Jean. Lois adored her grandchildren, Tiffini (Josh), Carly (Bruce), and Shannon, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ellyanna, Jhett, Keegan, Kellen, Jazlynn, Rockett, and Kolbie, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects during calling hours at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron on Wednesday, October 30th from 11 AM to 12 PM, a funeral service at 12PM followed by a procession at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
Lois Montis was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, whose warmth and love touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
