Lois J. Wolfe

Lois J. Wolfe, age 87, of Navarre, Ohio, formerly of Akron, died on January 14, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.

She was born on January 17, 1931 in Harrodsburg, KY, the daughter of the late Leon and Clarise (nee Cozart) Stopher.

Lois was a 1948 graduate of Kenmore High School in Akron and she also graduated from Akron University and attained her AS Degree in Social Work. Lois worked as a social worker for Molly Stark and Oriana House. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and her pets. For a while she was living at House of Loreto and was their most joyful resident. She loved to laugh, dance in her wheelchair and make people smile. However, her greatest joy was spending time and enjoying her family.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Mark) Sundbury, Jacqueline (Bob) Knutti, Terry (Rick) Sampsel, and Tom (Nancy) Wolfe; her 13 grandchildren, Tammy Sundbury, Angela (Richard) Swain, Mark Sundbury, Tom Sundbury, Melissa Brown, Kristen (Joe) Zwick, JD (Amelia) Wolfe, Amber Wolfe, Teryn Wolfe, Naomi (Joseph) Duggins, Charity Knutti, Dawn (Doug) Harshaw, and Sam (Stephanie) Custer; 25 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Carol Wolfe; and her two brothers, Tom and Steve Stopher.

Other than her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her son, James Wolfe; her granddaughter, Tracey Sundbury; her siblings, Dave, Robert, and Gerald Stopher, Sue Arellano, and Beverly Stopher.

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM, where her son, Tom Wolfe will celebrate his mother's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Lois will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to House of Loreto, 2812 Harvard Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio 44709, in Lois' memory.
