Lois V. Yates, 89, of Akron, went to her Heavenly home on March 15, 2025 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on February 13, 1936 to her birth parents, Dorothy (Springer) and Earl Adkins. She was lovingly raised by parents, Lizzie and Earl Yinger.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert "Bud" Yates; son-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Davis; her granddaughters, Violet and Marla Carter and Cassandra "Munchie" Davis; her brother, Jerry Adkins; and her sisters, Sandy and Barb.

Lois was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed reading her bible, doing word searches and she especially found joy in making lessons for all the grandchildren throughout the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Davis, of Akron; her grandchildren, Brandie (Shaderra) McGowan, Jennifer (John) Davis, Peter Howell and Charlie "Bubba" Davis; great-grandchildren, Imari (Tim) McGowan, Peter (Kaitlyn) Davis, Charles Davis III, Milani (Von) McGowan, Oma Howell, Anthony Davis, Lena Davis, and Jordan and Leah; and great-great-grandchildren, Josiah Davis and Nova; siblings, Bob Jr., Tim, Bonnie and Linda; as well as a host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for their dedication to making the final journey comforting for not only Lois, but for her family as well. Another special thank you goes to Jennifer Davis and Oma for their time, love and care that they gave Lois during her final journey.

Lois' love, wisdom and kindness will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A private Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312) where Lois will be laid to rest with her late husband, Bud.
