Loraine A. Armes, 77, passed away at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on June 18, 2022. She was born on December 9, 1944 the daughter of the late Clarence and Viola Jamison. She was a woman of faith and was a member of Calvary Gospel Temple. She enjoyed having bible study and playing bible trivia with her daughters and grandson. Loraine retired after more than 30 years of devoted and dedicated service from University Park Nursing Home. She always enjoyed a good bargain exploring yard sales and flea markets. Loraine always loved a party and celebrating with a good piece of cake. Loraine was a self-proclaimed princess and her humor was a continuous bubble of joy. She had much love in her heart, and was always selfless and caring toward others. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 41 years, Perry Armes; and siblings Bobby G. Jamison, Mackie L. Jamison, James E. "Shag" Jamison, Norma J. Mabe and Cornelius A. Ball.
Loraine is survived by her loving family, daughters Teresa (Jack Gleason) Graybeal and Michelle (Scott) Tigelman; grandchildren David "Davey" (Dylan) Graybeal and Kara Tigelman; 7 great-grandpups Juno, Jazzi, Moo Moo, Cody, Bella, Cosmo Momo, and Cersei; best friend for over 30 years, Sharon Stubblefield; special friend Theresa Gleason; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday (June 27) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held Tuesday (June 28) at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jonathon Turner officiating.
Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
