Loren T. Swensen, 50, took his final flight with the Lord on February 19, 2012. He was born in Fountain Hill, PA. He was a lifetime resident of Munroe Falls and Mogadore area. Loren was a devoted and loving father who gave everything and more to his family. His family was his world.
Loren was a model airplane enthusiast and enjoyed Model Aeronautics. He was a long standing member of the Corsair Model Airplane Club. His passion was building and flying vintage WWII model planes. Loren was a military history buff and had a strong support of the military. He enjoyed target shooting and was a supporter of the NRA. Loren was a longtime head chef at the Silver Pheasant Restaurant and was most recently employed by Goodyear where he made NASCAR tires.
Loren was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nancy Alberg Swensen and Loren Wheeler Swensen; father-in-law, Barnes A. Jones; aunt, Ann Swensen White.
Loren is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Bev (Jones); daughters, Lyni and Ally; son,Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Todd (Helene); sister and brother-in-law, Keri (Shawn) Hager; mother-in-law, Ruth Jones; aunt, Carolyn (Jim) Graham; cousins, Brent White, Michelle and Sue Roka; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family would like to express its sincere thanks to Bob Biggie for being a great friend to Loren. Also, the family would like to express thanks to the staff at Cooper Cancer Center, especially to his team at Summa Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care of Loren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday February 22 from 5-8 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23 at 11:00 AM with his friend Bob Biggie officiating. Internment at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa.
