Loretta Mae Swift, 58, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2018. She was born on June 17, 1959 to the late Maggie and Alex Swift Sr. Loretta served in the US Army as a cook, and continued her love of cooking in the years to follow, working for various restaurants and catering companies. Loretta loved spending time with her friends and family, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish Loretta's memory are her children, Sherita Swift and Rixey Swift; siblings, Alex Swift Jr., Barbara Swift, and Peggy Lewis; grandchild, Sherita Mae Swift, and four other grandchildren; nephews and nieces, Chris, Rob, and Peggy Lewis; her beloved Alabama family; close friends, Larry, Carol, and Geraldine "PeeWee".
A funeral service will take place on Friday January 19, 2018 12pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Family will receive friends from 10am-12pm at the funeral home. Rev. Jose will officiate. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to City Hospital for their kindness and care.
