Loretta Walleen

Loretta "Jeannie" Walleen, 66, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on September 24, 2017. She was born November 7, 1950 in Clarksburg, WV to late parents Jake and Mildred Ridenour. A lifelong lover of animals, Jeannie never met an animal she didn't like. She loved horseback riding and was involved for several years in search and rescue with her dog, Happy. Loretta also enjoyed riding her motorcycle, taking trips to the casinos with Gary and friends, and listening to rock and roll. She loved her family, especially her sons, Bobby and Jason.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Lewis; and dog, Happy. Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Gary Walleen; sons, Bob (Sandy) Jarvis, and Jason (Kim) Jarvis; granddaughters, Marisa Jarvis, Isabella Jarvis; great-grandchildren, Jaydalyn and Davion; siblings, Betty (JR) Cable, Roger (Karen) Ridenour; brother-in-law, Brian (Patty) Walleen; sister-in-law, Wendy (Lennie)Sheppard; and dog, Shadow.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with visitation from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Loretta's name.
