Lorne E. Markland, 57, passed away May 22, 2020 at home with family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Lonnie and Lucy (Darpino) Markland, he was a lifelong area resident. Lorne loved sports, coaching baseball little league, riding his dirt bike, taking walks and weekend trips, listening to music, spending time with friends at KC's Dugout as well as being surrounded by his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Lonna Gibson, Yvonne King; brothers, Lyndon, Lonnie and Paul Markland. He is survived by sons, Lorne R., James (Corrine) and Jason Markland; brother, Pete (Connie) Markland; sisters in-law, Barbara Markland, Judy Markland; 9 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions the memorial gathering at Newcomer, Akron Chapel will be private. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
