Lorraine M. Riegler, age 86, of Akron, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 after a long illness.
She was born in Akron, the daughter of the late John F. and Mathilde M. Hobbs.
Lorraine worked as a secretary for Hale & Kullgren and retired from Atlas Fluid Components. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends both at home and at her favorite spot, the Skyline View Park in Port Clinton. She served as secretary and was co-chairman of the entertainment committee for 30 years. Lorraine was instrumental in getting the natural gas line to the park. Some of her hobbies were boating, bowling, vacationing with her sisters-in-law, Jean, Linda, and Bridget; and spending time with her husband, Mike. She loved Absolut Vodka, that was her drink of choice. She was a force to be reckoned with in any endeavor she pursued.
Other than her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Jim Hobbs.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, L. Michael Riegler; one daughter, Carol Ritter; two grandsons, Eric (Melissa) Ritter and Brian Ritter; great-grandchildren, Austin and Brooke Ritter, whom she cherished dearly. Her step-daughters, Kim Morgan, Patricia (Kevin) Blower, and Denise Riegler, and their families; her sisters, Carol Schneider and Jeanette Mayer. Other survivors include all of Mike's family, as everyone is very close; and many nieces and nephews; her best friends, Carol Kline and Doris Wartko.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Father Steve Brunovsky will celebrate Lorraine's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Lorraine will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one's own favorite charity in Lorriane's memory.
