Louis Anthony Scalzo, Sr., 56, passed away on March 5, 2006. Louis retired from the police force after 25 years of service. He was a member of Akron Springfield Assembly of God and the FOP Lodge. Louis was a loving and devoted husband, beloved father, and grandfather, and was a man of great faith. He was a great lover of dogs, especially his baby "Abbey". He was preceded in death by his mother Christina whom he missed very much and is now reunited with in heaven. Survivors include his father John, Sr. ; beloved wife Laura; sons Louis, Jr. (Jodi) and Joseph; daughters Lori (Dewane) Jubara and Jill (Michael) Niland; brothers John, Jr. (Jennifer), Joseph, and Raymond (Becky); sisters Margie Ann Scalzo; Cheryl (James) Hipple, Anna (Thomas) Dies, and Kathy (Rick) Harbaugh; grandchildren Drew, Ethan, Connor, and Ashley Scalzo, Nicholas, Abigail, and Elle Jubara; step-children Alex, Michael, and Julie; and several loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice Care Center, Dr. Matthew Chung, and Dr. Frederick Marquinez and staff for their care and support.
