Louise Abraham (nee Cochran)

Louise Abraham, 90, was born on August 23, 1921 in Lakemore, Ohio. She was a graduate of Springfield High School. Louise was a long-time resident of Akron before moving to North Canton. She died peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Rose Lane Health Center, where she had been a resident. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George Abraham; parents, Horace and Marie Cochran; siblings, Edwin Cochran, Florence Wolverton, Walter Cochran and Herbert Cochran. She is survived by her brother, Robert Cochran; children, Tom (Fran) Abraham, Robert (Naomi) Abraham, Patricia (Phil) Pugh, Paul Abraham, and Louise Brenneman; grandchildren, Rachel (David) Carpenter, David (Stephanie Harris) Abraham, Bryan (Kara) Pugh, Chad (Jessamine) Pugh, Casey Pugh, Alexander Brenneman, Neva Brenneman, Marlena (Phillipp) Gouin, and George Abraham; great-grandchildren, Caleb Carpenter, Cordy Carpenter, Alexander Abraham and Dylan Abraham. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Louise enjoyed walking, gardening and the culinary arts. She also appreciated the beauty found in nature and was an avid birdwatcher. As a devoted mother, she was selfless and interested in the health and happiness of each family member and friend. Everyone benefited from her positive outlook on life and great sense of humor. The family wishes to thank most sincerely those who nurtured and cared for Louise during her time at Rose Lane. Her faith was strengthened not only from the Bible study program but also from each caring staff member. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the kind people in ICU during her recent stay at the Affinity Medical Center as well as the care and support she received from Hospice. A visitation will be held Monday, February 27, from 11 am to 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 1 pm with Mr. Chuck Fedorka officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
