Louise Nurse

Louise Nurse "Lou", 78, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 15, 1946 to the late James Dewitt and Dolly Chapman. Lou retired from the Quaker Square Hilton Hotel after over fifteen years of service. In her free time, Lou could often be found reading the newspaper or her favorite magazines. She loved to go shopping and always enjoyed a good meal. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by her brother, Dewitt Chapman; and niece, Darnetta Chapman.
She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband of over 50 years, Lawrence Nurse Sr.; children, Lawrence Nurse and Tonya Nurse; brother, John Henry Chapman; sister, Cynthia Chapman; grandchildren, Lawrence Nurse Jr., Sha'Niya Craig, and Lyric Nurse; several great-grandchildren. Lou also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lou's family wishes to thank the Summa Hospice nurse Melissa and caregiver Ola for all their love and support.
A homegoing service with Pastor Thomas Wilson officiating will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 noon until the start of the service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305. To view the service,
