Lucy Nadine King

Lucy Nadine King, 86, of Akron, passed away on May 25, 2016. She was born on April 14, 1930 in Rocky Mount, VA and lived her adult life in Akron. Lucy was an avid gardener, a die hard Indians fan, was a very down to earth person, had a strong faith, loved flowers and was devoted to her family.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years George; parents, Charles and Lucida Hodges; grandson, Matthew; and son-in-law, Jim. She is survived by children, Charleen, Dexter (Tammy), Kay, Gary King, Georgianna Jameson; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Family will welcome guests on Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 4-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 11am at Freewill Baptist Church, 1802 Eastwood Ave., Akron, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. The family would like to thank Hospice of Visiting Nurse for the excellent care provided.
