Luella J. Grant, 93, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2008. She was born May 10, 1915 in Pliny, West Virginia. Luella's life was centered around church. She was a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church for 70 years where she served in many ways, including taking tapes to shut-ins. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and TOPS. Anyone who talked to Luella learned a lesson implicit in her attitude: to have a good life, you must believe that life is good. An unbroken thread of faith ran through Luella's good life. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring lady with steadfast faith. Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Elner. She will be greatly missed by her children, Lowell (Barb) of Ft. Myers, FL, Bill (Karen) of Port Charlotte, FL, Dow (Sharyn) of Dover, OH, and Sharon (Marc) of Farmington, CT; six grandsons, four granddaughters, and four great-granddaughters. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A celebration of Luella's life will be Saturday at 10:30 with visitation for one hour prior at Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Rd., Pastor Jeff Gindlesberger offciating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lakemore United Methodist Church.
