Luevelt Tucker "Boot" was born November 6, 1952 to the parentage of Henri and Lougressa Tucker in Octagon, AL. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Paradise M.B. Church. He was formally educated at Marengo County Training School, Thomaston, AL. Luevelt had a passion for cars. Between the ages of 12 and 16 he wrecked as many cars as he fixed, at least 3 to 4 a year. As the years progressed, he became a master mechanic and also a drywall finisher working for O.D. Bell Drywall Finishing Co.
On the evening of August 21, 2020, God called Luevelt Tucker home.
Luevelt Tucker leaves to cherish his memory, and rejoice his purposeful life, his devoted wife of 40 years, Leanna Davis Tucker; his mother Lougresso Tucker of Shiloh, AL; four children, Luevelt Tucker Jr., daughter, Amberlee Tucker of Akron. OH, Anthony Tucker of Magnolia, AL and Courtney Jones of Hagerstown, MD; seven grandchildren, Darnell Dwayne, Earnest James, Landon Chase Anthony Pruiett of Akron, OH, Luevelt Tucker III of Akron, OH, Tameka, Felicia and Alexandria Tucker of Linden, AL; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Johnnie Tolar of Orlando, FL, Vickie Eaton of Cleveland, OH, Geraldine Tucker, Mamie Stockwell, Willie Parrish and Angela Carter of Shiloh, AL; mother-in-law, Queen Esther Walker of Akron, OH; brothers-in-law, Michael Wilson and Terry Davis of Akron, OH; sister-in-law, Deborah (Tommy) Jackson of Mansfield, OH; a host of nieces and nephews whom affectionately refer to him as "Lou Rawls;" and special friends, Kenny and Rick.
He was predeceased in death by his father, Henri; two brothers, Jesse Hughes and Columbus "Scooter" Tucker; one sister, Joyce Gail Tucker-Lewis; father-in-law, Jack Davis; and brother-in-law, Antonio Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service at 12:00pm. Cremation will take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Newcomer Funeral Home.
