Luther A. Cook, 87, passed away on July 15, 2009. Luther was born in Christiana, TN on September 29, 1921. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Army. Luther retired from Consolidated Freightway and enjoyed fishing, BINGO, and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; and brothers Leland and James. Survivors include his daughter Joyce Massey; sons Larry (Mary Ann), Terry (Lorie), and Gary; grandchildren Phil, Joe, Steve, Sharon, Bryan, April, and Jason; and 10 great-grandsons. Calling hours will be Sunday, 1-4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Private interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
