Lyndon Markland

Lyndon "Lindy" J. Markland, 55, of Portage Lakes, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2016. He was a 1979 graduate of East High School and has been employed with Air Enterprises LLC for 30 years, currently serving in the Field Services Department. Lindy lived his life to the fullest. He was very outgoing, assertive, friendly, and had a contagious sense of humor. He loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Lindy enjoyed activities on the Portage Lakes, especially pleasure boating, jet skiing, and entertaining guests. Lindy was very caring, often putting others needs before his own, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Lucy Markland, and sister, Lonna Markland-Gibson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 30 years, Barbara J. Markland; sons, Matthew (Kaysie), and Luke Markland; brothers, Lonnie, Lorne, Pete (Connie), and Paul (Judy) Markland; sister, Yvonne King; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 3-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Friends will also be received from 9 am until time of funeral service at 10 am at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron, OH 44319, Pastor Paul Markland officiating. Lindy will be laid to rest at Manchester Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Lindy's name to Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, Clear Blue Project and/or Haven of Rest Ministry.
