Mabel June Evans, age 86 of Columbia, Virginia, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died on August 12, 2021 and the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on June 18, 1935 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy C. And Mabel (nee Holbert) Hart.
Mabel retired from O'Neils in Akron after many years of service. She enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Other than her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Evans; her son, Roger Earl Pryor; her brother, Daniel Hart; and her daughter-in-law, Nora (nee Field) Stackpole.
Survivors include her son, James Stackpole; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Karen (John) Custer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Joel Cochran will celebrate Mabel's life.
Mabel will be buried next to her husband in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
