Madeline J. "Lynn" Powers

Madeline J. "Lynn" Powers, 81, went to be with her Lord on July 16, 2007, at her daughter's home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born July 24, 1925 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late William and Vela (Lawrence) Lane. The former Miss Lynn Lane was married to John F. Powers on August 18, 1944 at Akron, OH. Lynn worked in production at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. During their retirement years, Lynn and John traveled. They recently were located at Lake Tawakoni in Texas. Lynn loved gardening, flowers, and people. She spoke of the Lord in all her conversations. Lynn is survived by her husband John Powers; daughters Kathie and husband Ted Davis, of Broken Arrow, OK, and Debbie and husband Jerry McFerron, of Nairobi, Kenya; and grandchildren Charles and Nicholas McFerron and Joshua and Kristina Davis. A funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Rev. Ted Davis officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
