Marc Brandon Burgess

Marc Brandon Burgess, "Brandon", age 36, of Norton, Ohio, died on September 27, 2021.

He was born on November 16, 1984 in Akron, the son of James Burgess and Patricia (nee Tandy) Burgess both of Akron.

Marc was an honorably discharged US Marine serving during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan with 3rd BN-25th Marines, 4th Marine Division.

Brandon was an avid outdoorsman as he enjoyed hunting and fishing and planning hunting trips to Montana and Alaska, however, his favorite thing in the world was being a DAD!

In addition to his parents, survivors include his loving wife, the former Lesley Phelps, whom he married on August 17, 2012; his two daughters, Lacey and Chelsea Burgess; his sister, Julia (Christopher) Carli and his twin brother, Ryan Burgess; his wife's sister, Robyn Phelps; his wife's parents, Donald and Kathryn (nee Farson) Phelps; and three nephews, Pete Carli, Nathaniel Phelps and Noah Cross.

Marc is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ryan Phelps.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Jeff Schapiro will celebrate Marc's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

Following all services, Marc will be cremated and his cremated remains will be buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where military services will be held.
