Marcia L. Sandstrom, 76, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on November 27, 2021. Marcia was born in Youngstown, Ohio on October 21, 1945 to the late Rollin Jewett and Doris Thomas. She was a talented artist and made good use of her home studio, creating paintings and greeting cards. Marcia sold her work in area stores and was proud to exhibit her paintings with the Akron Art League.
Marcia made friends wherever she went. She knew when to give advice and when to simply listen. She enjoyed numerous social groups, including book clubs, bridge clubs, Mexican Train club, and the Akron Art League.
In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her sons, Erik and Scott Sandstrom. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Paul Sandstrom; children, Kirsten (Michael) Davis, Gretchen (David) Frase, and Brett Sandstrom; brothers, John Jewett, Kip Kuebler, and George (Kathy) Thomas; grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Hannah, Savannah, Abbey, Spencer, Garrett, Emma, Sophie, Audrey, Mya, and Maizy; two great-grandchildren on the way; and numerous special friends, including Fran Bickum.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 18, 2021 from 10am until 1pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. An opportunity for friends and family to share stories and memories about Marcia will take place at 1pm. Marcia will be privately laid to rest at Lake Park Cemetery in Boardman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
