Margaret E. Dodd

Margaret E. Dodd (nee Edgell), age 90, a resident of Akron, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 4, 1923 to the late Glenn and Helen Edgell. Margaret retired from M. O'Neil Co after 22 years and was a charter member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ where she served on the consistory, Women's Fellowship and other numerous committees and activities. She enjoyed watching many sports events especially those that included her grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George W. Dodd in 2001, sisters, Jeanette Breiner and Dorothy Martin. She is survived by her son, Dr. Gary (Betty) Dodd of Akron, daughter, Janice (late Henry) Meyer of Grand Rapids, MI, daughter, Pat (Larry) Brown of Akron, grandchildren; Christine Dodd, Dr. Andrew (Michelle) Dodd, Lisa (Aaron) Conrow, Stephanie Meyer, Jennifer Meyer, Dr. Derek (Celeste Vani) Brown and Lindsey (Randy) Smith, 5 great grandchildren; Ryan, Isabella, Alex, Landon and Arnie, many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1480 Eastwood Ave, Akron, OH 44305 with Rev. Steve Lashbrook officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 am, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the church.
