Margaret J. Hardenbergh, 90, went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2017. She was born in Port Clinton, OH to the late Blaine and Olive Hardenbergh. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed genealogy and was very active with her family and church family. Margaret was a member of the Historical Society of Wadsworth, Genealogy Society of Ohio, AAUW, Daughters of American Revolution, and her college sorority. She supported many causes over the years. She graduated from Wittenberg University and received her Master's Degree from the University of Akron as a reading specialist.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Butcher. She is survived by her nieces, Joan (Victor) Mick, Sue (Donald) Moore, Liz (John) Knepper; and nephew, Larry (Bonnie) Butcher; great-nieces and nephews, Angie (Chuck), Joshua (Ashley), Samantha, Eric (Ashlee), John Luke, Melissa, Blaine, and Sarah; great-great nieces and nephews, Camden, Oakley, Addison and Eric James Jr; and dear friend, Anna Mae Cummings.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 11-12 with the funeral service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Karen Rule officiating. Interment Hope Cemetery. The family would like to thank Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls, and Absolute Hospice for their compassionate care.
