Margaret Helen Lambey
Margaret Helen Lambey, a resident of Suffield Township for 49 years, entered into rest on July 24, 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Helen was born January 15, 1921 to Owen and Annie (Hyer) Ashley of Big Otter, West Virginia. She came to Akron in 1942 and went to work as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Goodyear. In 1944, she married her childhood sweetheart, Clarence Lambey. Helen faithfully attended the Mogadore United Methodist Church for twenty-five years. She was an avid reader and gardener who enjoyed growing Hillbilly tomatoes to share with her family and friends. She wants to express appreciation to her sons, Stephen and David for their loving care during her illness, with a special thanks to Stephen for taking a leave from work to give her extended care. She would also like to acknowledge the kindness given from her nieces, Diane and Davette, her church family, neighbors, especially the Saal family, and best friend, Lorene Cain. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence. She is survived by her sons, Stephen, David (Kim), and Dean; granddaughter, Karen Lambey; sisters, Halcie Palm, Nell Starcher (Corbet), Myrtle Campbell, and brother, Elden Ashley; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 10-11 a.m. at the Mogadore United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Rd., Mogadore where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dale Epple officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Mogadore. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mogadore United Methodist Church or to your favorite food bank.
