Margaret R. Kellar, "Marge", age 88 of Tallmadge, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 22, 1929 in Tallmadge, the daughter of the late Warren Charles and Minerva Florence (nee Stout) France.
Marge was the custodian at the Community Gospel Tabernacle for 40 plus years. She was a deaconess at the church, and was the prayer chain leader and also a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Kellar loved reading the Bible and teaching her grandchildren about the Lord. Marge always helped on the mercy luncheons at the church. She loved to bake, especially pies and cookies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, from going on family trips to having family dinners.
Survivors include her three children, Sheilla (Bob) Nunnelley, Frances "Pettie" Tomaiko, and Tom (Julie) Kellar; her grandchildren, Casey (Mike) Easterling, Stephen (Michelle) Kellar, Brittany, Stephanie, and Colton Tomaiko, Thomas and Jacob Kellar, Bob Nunnelley, and Shelley Sutula; her great-grandchildren, Noel, Emry, Tyler, Melanie, Abbey, Katie, and Milan; one sister, Elouise (Lyle) Patterson; and a brother in the Lord, Ron Chaffman.
Other than her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Kellar on September 16, 2016, they were united in marriage on January 10, 1948; her son, Donald R. Kellar; her granddaughter, Angela Kellar; her siblings, Florence Croft, Pearl Beverly, Gertrude France, and Frankie France.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at Community Gospel Tabernacle, 181 East State Street, Barberton, Ohio 44203 on Friday, February 23, 2018, where Pastor Donita Huffman will celebrate Margaret's life.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Margaret will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
